The Solar System

Somewhere in the outer bands of a spiral galaxy called the Milky Way, is an average-sized middle-aged yellow star known as the Sun. Within the gravitational well of this star orbit nine planetary bodies, their satellite systems, and a number of asteroids and comets. This is our solar system. Sea and Sky invites you to take a tour of our amazing planetary system. You may browse the Solar System at will by clicking on any of the objects below, or you may take a guided tour by clicking on the rocket-shaped tour button. Use the rocket navigation icons to continue the tour, or you can break off and explore on your own at any time. The "Continue Tour" icon will take you to the next stop on the Solar System tour, while the "Return" icon brings you back to the previous menu choice. A navigation bar is available at the top of each page to assist you in your journey. All images in this section are courtesy of NASA unless otherwise noted.
